About Craig Cooper
Born and raised in Maine, Craig Cooper works out of his office in Cape Elizabeth where he lives with his wife Jennifer, and is the very proud father of three young women. Craig graduated from Southern Maine Technical College in 1972 with a degree in Building Construction. He opened Rainbow Construction in 1978 and has been remodeling and building fine homes for residents of the greater Portland area ever since.
The son of a preacher, Craig has always been passionate about being involved with the community by supporting various outreach programs. A long standing supporter for Maine Handicapped Skiing he has helped to raise over $50,000, and previously served on the Board of Directors. He has helped the Boys and Girls Club, Mercy Hospital, and Habitat for Humanity on several occasions by donating both labor and materials as part of “Carpenter for a Day” programs. Additionally Craig is a strong supporter of the arts, giving regularly to University of Southern Maine, School of Music and Portland Symphony Orchestra. He continually donates to other causes as well such as Susan G. Komen’s Rally for the Cure.
What began as just two evolved into a dedicated crew of fine craftsman who have been working together at Rainbow Construction for several years now, some for over 20 years. Add to that the established network of strategic partnerships Craig has developed over the years, many which stretch back for decades with the best suppliers and subcontractors in the business, and what you have is a literal one stop shop for all your contracting needs, regardless of how big or small your project may be.
